The Parent Teacher
Organization (PTO) is an organization that consists of parent
volunteers and teachers who work with the school. PTO provides
excellent support to many school programs. PTO general
membership meetings are scheduled the second Thursday of the
month throughout the school year. A small membership fee ($5)
is assessed.
PTO has supported numerous
school programs in the past including funding for Accelerated
Reading (AR) activities and awards, the climbing wall in the
gymnasium, Science day lunches, playground equipment,
landscaping, keyboards for the music program that work with
our computer lab, field trips and other classroom activities..
Support for teachers has also been provided. Teachers are
asked to come to the PTO meeting and present their proposals
to the PTO.
Some of the things we are
working on this year are landscaping the entrance to the
school, emergency bags for the classrooms, and playground
equipment for each of the classrooms.
