Rye Elementary School has been welcoming children and their families for over 20 years. Located in the Greenhorn Valley of Southern Colorado.  Rye sits just outside the San Isabel National Forest where the majority of fourteen thousand foot peaks in Colorado are located. Rye offers students an opportunity to excel in an environment that encourages creativity, responsibility and community.

Mission Statement
Our goal at Rye Elementary School is to provide a learning environment where students will meet and exceed academic standards, make thoughtful decisions, and solve problems. With these skills, students will gain knowledge, confidence, and self-discipline. Consistent high expectations for both the student's academic effort and behavior, combined with strong parental support, will bring success.

Parent and Community Support
Rye enjoys vigorous parent and community support. We have a strong and active PTO that helps sponsor and support many school wide activities. In addition parents and community members are actively encouraged to volunteer in our classrooms. The faculty and staff of Rye are committed to a high level of parent involvement and are proud of our high level of parent participation and support.

The Greenhorn Valley Community is an active partner providing support for school ground improvements such as our new play structure and the planting of playground trees. Through a partnership with Reed College, students at Lewis are provided the opportunity to take pare in after school science enrichment classes. Our business partners include Washington Mutual, providing support through their School Savings program, and Clarity Innovations, providing instructional technology support and assistance.
